Oskar and Rudolf Adler developed a presumptive test for blood based on benzidine. Karl Landsteiner discovered four basic blood groups. Hans Gross wrote a treatise on criminal investigation. Francis Galton published his book, Fingerprints. Henry Faulds discovered that powders could make fingerprints visible. Henry Goddard used bullet comparisons to apprehend a murderer. Mathieu Orfila published a treatise on poisons.
